Marketing Observations

During my observations in the library there were many interesting things that happened which shows the dynamic environment of the first floor. Something I observed is that most people that were in the library were on their computers either working on stuff or watching videos. All the people that were on their computers had their headphones on those that were watching videos did it so they wouldn’t distract others. Those that were watching videos were staring blankly at their screen while those working on things had papers and would shift their eyes between their paper and their computers. Everyone that was walking through the library was walking through at a quick pace and looked very busy.Most people that were walking came from the coffee shop which was indicated by the iced coffee in their hand. There was also a difference between those that were sitting at long tables opposed to short desks. Those at long tables had drinks and snacks which could indicate that they would be there for a longer period of time while other people at the short tables only had drinks. Many people were sitting isolated although there was some groups that were together. Those that were alone had their headphones and were working on stuff or watching videos while those that were in groups were talking with their friends but still had one earbud in their ear to listen to music. Nobody stood out they all just were focusing on the assignments they were working on or the TV shows they were watching. The library has an interesting flow to it and creates an environment of busy calmness based on the working and fast moving individuals who were going in and out of the library as well as those working on homework and the calmness by people keeping their headphones in.
